Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) telah menjadi tuan rumah kepada majlis pelancaran program Zon Bersih, Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan Negeri Selangor. Majlis pelancaran telah disempurnakan oleh Y.B. Tuan Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Tetap Kerajaan Tempatan, Kajian dan Penyelidikan, Negeri Selangor bertempat di Taman Tasik Shah Alam. program Zon Bersih ini merupakan aktiviti untuk memupuk kesedaran dan budaya cintakan kebersihan melalui penglibatan komuniti serta menjadikan Shah Alam serta Negeri Selangor sebuah negeri yang paling bersih di Malaysia.

雪12地方政府建筑物范围 周五也列无塑胶袋日

(八打灵再也8日讯)雪兰莪州政府已发出指示,十二个地方政府须今年内将星期五列为“无塑胶袋日”,禁止在地方政府建筑物范围内使用塑胶袋,此举进一步推广无塑胶袋环保意识。

掌管雪州旅游、消费人及环保事务的行政议员黄洁冰指出,州政府已在去年12月发出指令,要求所有地方政府列星期五为“无塑胶袋日”,地方政府建筑物范围内的商店及食堂在当天一律不提供塑胶袋。

“雪州政府大厦已在去年10月率先实验性推行,大厦内的商店及食堂都必须遵守,星期五一律不提供塑胶袋。”

Solar-powered lights at bus stops malfunction soon after being fixed

MORE than 80 solar-powered lights at bus stops in Kajang, Cheras and Semenyih malfunctioned within three months after being installed.

Kajang municipal councillor Eddie Ng said only eight out of the 96 lights were functioning and the rest were not in working condition.

Ng said the lights were installed at the end of 2010 and in less than three months many had malfunctioned.

Last year, 40 bus stops were refurbished, including 26 that were demolished and rebuilt.

A must: One of the requirements is to have the Malaysian flag at the upgraded bus stops.

Yaakob yang memegang portfolio Pemodenan Pertanian, Pembangunan Usahawan dan Pengurusan Sumber Alam berkata usaha sedang dilakukan Kerajaan Negeri dengan kerjasama pelbagai pihak untuk mewujudkan kembali suasana persekitaran yang menghijau di negeri ini.

KLANG: An existing two-foot-wide drain at Taman Chi Liung, Pandamaran will be widened to 10 feet to put an end to frequent floods in the neighbourhood.

Construction to widen the 200m-long drain located on Jalan Batu Unjur will cost the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) RM130,000, and is scheduled for completion at month’s end.

Ekspo Flora Klang yang akan diadakan di Taman Rakyat, Taman Seri Andalas, Klang terbuka kepada orang ramai bermula pukul 9 pagi sehingga 11 malam.

New hope for Klang town

The Klang Municipal Council is making its presence felt in the streets of Klang.

WISH Residents are pleased to see improvement in the cleanliness of the town and hope that more positive changes will follow

For years, residents of Klang have been skeptical about the township ever getting a clean image since it has always been regarded  as a dirty town. However, things seem to have changed for the better since the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) took over the waste management from Alam Flora Sdn Bhd on Oct 16. Several residents  Streets spoke to are pleased to see that the efforts in sprucing up the town are working….Checks show that some of the dirtier roads such as Jalan Dato Hamzah and Jalan Tengku Kelana, and the P1 bus stop in Jalan Pos Baharu, havebeen cleaned up.
