Geran ‘Selangorku’ RM5 Juta Diperuntuk Pelihara Alam Sekitar

PETALING JAYA 5 JUN : Kerajaan Negeri Selangor memperuntukkan RM5 juta dalam ‘Geran Selangorku’ pada tahun ini bagi melaksanakan pemeliharaan dan aktiviti penjagaan alam sekitar di negeri ini.

Exco Pelancongan, Hal Ehwal Pengguna dan Alam Sekitar, Elizabeth Wong berkata, geran alam sekitar diberi kepada badan bukan kerajaan (NGO) dan persatuan-persatuan dalam melaksanakan program yang dirancang berkaitan alam sekitar.

“Jadi fasa pertama, Kerajaan Negeri telah memberi lebih RM250,000 kepada NGO-NGO terbabit.

Apart from sparrows, pigeons and crows, what other urban birds can you recognise? Can you tell the male Asian Koel from the House Crow? (The Asian Koels are parasitic cuckoos that lay their eggs at the crows’ nests and let the crows bring up their young.)

“All birds have their own fascinating stories,” said bird enthusiast Tashia Peterson, 41, during an interview at the Bukit Kiara Park in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

When first created by the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly in late 1993, 29 December (the date of entry into force of the Convention of Biological Diversity), was designated The International Day for Biological Diversity.

I hope this email finds you well. Below you will find some general comments on the Detailed EIA (DEIA) for the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road (KLORR) followed by more specific comments and criticisms. I hope that these will help facilitate a constructive decision by the DOE and its review panel.

In general, the DEIA was found to be lacking in a number of areas.

More laws are needed to protect sharks

SAHABAT Alam Malaysia (SAM) notes with concern the views by fishermen and restaurant operators who are opposed to the shark ban in Sabah.

These groups are against the amendment to the Fisheries Act 1985 to make shark fishing illegal.

严管餐馆及药材店 卖野生动物执照吊销

(莎阿南23日讯)雪州政府通过各地方政府严密监管餐馆、药材店和宠物店的运作,以杜绝业者售卖保育野生动物和其制成品,严厉打击非法猎捕和售卖保育野生动物活动!

雪州政府与大马老虎保育联盟合作,推动保育野生动物觉醒运动,左起黄珮媚、黄洁冰和李成金。

违例业者列黑名单
任何违反“2010年保护野生动物法令”的业者,其执照将被地方政府吊销,并被列入黑名单。
掌管雪州旅游、环境及消费人事务的行政议员黄洁冰表示,雪州政府除了与非政府组织配合,发动保育野生动物醒觉运动外,也已通过地方政府取缔售卖保育野生动物和制成品的商店,包括餐馆、药材店和宠物店等。

Selangor bekerjasama dengan MYCAT membanteras jenayah hidupan liar

SHAH ALAM, Selangor–23 Mac 2012–Kerajaan Negeri Selangor pada hari ini mengumumkan suatu kerjasama dengan Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers (MYCAT) untuk menjalankan Kempen Kesedaran Membanteras Jenayah Hidupan Liar.

Melalui sokongan kewangan sebanyak RM20,000 daripada Kerajaan Negeri, kempen kesedaran tersebut bertujuan untuk mengelak kepupusan hidupan liar di Malaysia yang bukan sahaja berpunca daripada kehilangan habitat semulajadi malah pemburuan haram yang tidak terkawal.
