Kelana Jaya bazaar selected to go green

THE Ramadan bazaar in Jalan SS6/1, Kelana Jaya, has been selected by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to participate in the Selangor state government’s green initiative campaign this year.

Traders and consumers at the selected bazaars are encouraged to not use plastic bags and styrofoam containers. They also have to recycle all cooking oil used.

One Ramadan bazaar from each local authority will be selected for the pilot campaign, which could be extended to all bazaars in the future.

The Kelana Jaya Ramadan Bazaar is also the biggest with some 220 allocated lots for traders. This year’s Ramadan bazaar will be held from Aug 1 to 29.

Trading hours for bazaars under the MBPJ are from 4pm till 7.30pm.

> Jalan 14/27, Section 14
