Notis: The Usage of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS), Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs)

Starting from 1^st January 2013, the usage of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS), Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) will be controlled by the Government of Malaysia through the procedure of Approved Permit (AP) which is administered by the Department of Environment Malaysia (DOE).

The importers of a substance containing ODS HCFC is obligated to register with the Department of Environment (DOE).

Among the substances that contain HCFCs are;

• Refrigerant Materials (HCFC-22, HCFC-123,)
• Blowing Agents (HCFC-141b)
• Solvents (HCFC 225ca)

Registration forms can be downloaded via DOE website. http://www.doe.gov.my Failure to register will jeopardize the chances to obtain Approved Permit (AP). Registration period starts from 20^th of March 2012. All application must be submitted before the closing date of registration period which is 20^th of April 2012.
